Rozi Morris - Vocals Tamzin Powell - Vocals & spoons Jo White - Fiddle & Viola Rob Morris - Accordion,Mandolin, guitar Matt Powell - Guitar Wild Welsh Women produce a heady blend of closely meshed harmonies and stirring acoustic accompaniment, with influences drawn from the traditional music of Wales and the rest of the British Isles, along with more contemporary sources. They have been thrilling audiences around the World for the past few years, playing in the UK, America, Estonia and France. After a sabbatical of a couple of years working on other projects (both musical and non), Wild Welsh Women return to the fray with a new studio album entitled 'Death of the King's Canary'. The album mixes contemporary and traditional songs & tunes, but all with one foot in the traditional music of the British Isles and Europe. Centred on the mother & daughter team of Rozi & Tamzin, their intricate harmonies blend in a way that only genetically linked voices can. However, having approached the Wild Welsh Women from opposite ends of the musical spectrum, Rozi & Tamzin bring many different musical flavours to the band. Tamzin is from a blues & folky rock background, writing & recording with several contemporary bands, including 'The Cherubims, (with Matt). Rozi, however, comes from more of a traditional folk music background, (having released solo material, and material with Rob) and also having had a classical grounding at Cardiff college of music and Drama in her formative years. Jo was born & bred in Cumbria and joined Wild Welsh Women in 2002 having recently moved to South Wales. Her background is in the music of the North-West borders and she is classically trained having played viola with the Cumbria Philharmonic and the Northern Junior Philharmonic The bands second album, "Death of the Kings Canary", is currently on release on Airheart records as was their first album Isle of Môn, both are available by emailing wildwelshwomen@yahoo.co.uk or by calling 01600 772776.
